Conquer Hesitation – Just Do It

Hesitation is a killer.

Did you want to get in shape?

Did you want to start a new podcast?

You’ve probably been thinking about starting something new for a couple of minutes, days, months, or even years!

Stop pondering and start doing.

It’s simple.

Do one step towards your action. That’s all.

Did you want to get in shape? Start by doing 2 push-ups.

Did you want to start a business? Come up with 5 business ideas and write them down.

Do you want to share your knowledge and build an audience? Google how to start a blog and do it!

Don’t let fear stop you.

5 Second Rule

There’s a rule that if you want to do something, count from 5 to 1:

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, …

And right after you spell ONE you start doing the action.

And if it is something big and you actually cannot do that action immediately (for example because you’re at work) – write it down, so that you won’t forget it later.

Just do something that will move you closer to what you want to accomplish.

2 Minute Rule

Do you have a lot of things to do on your to-do list?

Start from completing small actions.

If something takes less than 2 minutes – do it now.

That’s the best way to develop progress in your life.

If you’re hesitating to do something because it’s too much for you, then simplify it.

For example, do two push-ups. That’s all.

Write to somebody or open a laptop. Do it. Do it now.

You will have the power and you will be able to proceed with your missions.

That’s what I’m doing right now. Actually, I didn’t have the motivation to write this post but it’s open in a tab. And now it’s easier for me to finish it.

I am thinking about which topic I’d like to cover. Then I am just going through it quickly without giving myself permission to hesitate and I’m aggressively finishing it.

With a little spark of energy.

Let’s borrow some energy from me (at least that form of me), do me a favor, and do something yourself now.

Just don’t hesitate.

You’d be thanking me later.

Like Nike says,

Just Do It.
